KRIHS Organizes KOICA National Territorial and Regional Development Policy Program for LACs

On April 7, the Global Development Partnership Center (GDPC) at Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements (KRIHS) held the opening ceremony of National Territorial and Regional Development Policy Program for Colombia, Equador, and Peru. As part of three-year education program for three LAC countries organized by the KRIHS and managed by Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the Program is scheduled to provide lectures given by KRIHS research fellows and other experts and field trips including industrial site tours to Busan New Port Promotion Center and Hyundai Motor Factory. The list of lectures by KRIHS research fellows are: “Economic Growth Transportation Infrastructure in Korea” by  Chung Ilho; “Land Development Policy in Korea” by Jeong Heenam; “Reformation of Mass Transportation System” by Lee Sangkeon; “Urban Policy in Korea” by  Park Sehoon; “Industrial Complex Development and policy in South Korea” by Kang Hoje; “Geo Information System Policy in Korea” by Kim Daejong; “Housing Policy in Korea” by Park Miseon; “Current status and prospect of U-City Policy in Korea” by Cho Chunman. Mr. Lee Jeongwook of Korea Land and Housing Corporation will give a lecture on “How to Actualize New Town Projects”; Chae Jongheon of Korea Institute of Public Administration introduced “Consensus Building Process in Korea.” Dr. Park Jin of Korea Development Institute will introduce Korea’s economic planning and the role of infrastructure in the nation’s economic development, and Professor So Jinkwang of Gacheon University will introduce Korea’s Saemaeul (New Village) Movement. During the Program, Choi Songsu, Senior Advisor at the KRIHS, will help the participants develop action plans for each country.
