KSP III Capacity Builidng Program: Consultation on the Legal and Institutional Improvement and Supporting Regional for Nuclear Power Plant in Vietnam
The Global Development Partnership Center (GDPC) of Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements (KRIHS) ran a capacity building program for Vietnam, as part of Knowledge Sharing Program (KSP) by the Ministry of Strategy and Finance from March 22 to 28, 2015.
The program, entitled “Consultation on the Legal and Institutional Improvement and Supporting Regional Policy for Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) in Vietnam”, included lectures on operating nuclear power plants and related laws and institutions in Korea, business meeting with NPP related organizations, and field trips to Wolsong Nuclear Power Construction Public Relations Officer and Wolsong Radioactive Waste Disposal Facility. Seven Vietnamese government officials, including Doan The Vinh, Deputy Director of Nuclear and Thermal Power Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, participated in the program. After the lectures, the participants discussed urgent tasks and issues for operating nuclear power plants in Vietnam in the workshop. With the capacity building program, KRIHS expects to have more opportunities to collaborate with several Vietnamese authorities in the future.
